Of the Date with The Lord of the Rings
Blog Entry #1
I did not blog yesterday, though it was a fairly important day on my personal calendar.Chiefly due to the fact that i was half dead while i got home from the Science Centre yesterday afternoon.Alright, this traces back to Thursday when i did the bloody CIP.Apparently i got sick due to the air-con in the cafe,or so i assumed. So now,i am down with a bad running nose problem,as well as a swirling head.Yay.I couldnt even walk down the corridor without holding on to something.Anyway,i woke up at 1020am yesterday morning, and prepared to get to City Hall Mrt by 1130pm.Mom was kind enough to fetch me to the MRT station before heading to the airport to fetch dad.I took the MRT down to City Hall from Bishan, and met Samuel at the platform.Apparently we were on the same train.Anyway,Krishna came soon after and we headed up to the food court at Raffles City.Im not a big fan of food court stuff, save for the Tippan Yaki i had a couple of days ago.Krishna told me the roasted chicken was particularly good. And so i bought it.It tasted, normal. And i didnt finish it because i lost any form of appetite.(When im sick i tend to eat very little.I was sick all the time when i was young, and that explains why i resembles a stick.)Krishna managed to cobble down a whole Subway sandwich which was at least 1metre long.Fine, maybe i am exaggerating. But it was at least 60 to 70cm long. All of those, managed to fit into his stomach.Wow.We ate our lunch, and took the MRT to Jurong East Interchange. It was fun of course, talking with them again.Afterall they are old friends from secondary school. They say that friends from secondary school will stay on the longest.Oh well,we will see.:)Anyway, got off at the station and asked for directions at the control station. We took 335 from that mrt station and reached the Science Centre soon after.Had our tickets exchanged and went into the exhibition hall. The Lord of the Rings Motion Picture Exhibition.Wow.The tickets burnt in my hands as i walked through the front door.I was pumped and hyped about this whole exhibition thing.Anyway,at the entrance we were greeted by the Argonaths, with the left hand stretched out far before their faces.I told Samuel,"By the end of the day, these would be gone."We went into the hall and saw the Map of Middle Earth, which i already had on my wall.Of course,it was much bigger than the one i have.We got in and there it was,Sauron with his full armour standing beside Barad Dur upon deep fiery pits.It was a neat model, exactly the one we saw on film.(Duh.)We turned left and stumbled upon the Mini-Mumakil in a glass case, then some art pieces done by John Howe and Alan Lee.These paintings were dotted all around the exhibition area,to show the people about the conceptual process of the movie. We came to Sam's backpack, which got Samuel pretty excited. It was neat, with the pots and pans hanging from the back.We went on into this dark room, where The One Ring was located.Pretty nice effect i must say.;)We scanned the area displaying the costumes worn by the actors. It was nice seeing those costumes up close and personal.Gandalf's costume was nice, and much more detailed than i thought.(With his staff and pipe. Also the parchments he read in FOTR.)Theoden's armour was there,Arwen's dress,(With Evenstar.)Aragorn's ranger suit,(Damn, where is his King armour?Shards of Narsil,Anduril and his ring.)Frodo's shirt(Which included Sting, and the Phial),Gimli's armour(Axe and all.),Legolas' costume(Bow and arrows),the Nazgul's costume,(Which included their swords and rings,as well as their crowns.)Galadriel's dress,(With her ring as well.)Elrond's costume.Other costumes included the Uruk Hai and Orc costumes and weaponry, not to mention the elves. They had the most beautiful weapons and armours around. We also got to see the Haradrium's costume, and the Rohan Riders.Oh,Gondorians too. Both their weapons and shields.I got to play with the swords used in the prologue! That was pretty cool.Oh,and Saruman's costume was cool.It was pretty scary to be honest, imagining Christoper Lee in that costume and looking down at you.Yikes.We came across some prosthetic masks, ears and feets as well.A saddle used in the films as well as a life-like Boromir in a boat! That was totally real.Me and Samuel were wondering if he might just sit up and freak everyone out.He looked exactly like Sean Bean and was really real. There was also the creatures section where they explained the use of 3D scanning on the Cave Troll and Shelob to aid them in the digital creations.Huge models like the Wheel of Shire,as well as Orthanc was there.Bloody sweet.Models of Orcs as well as their weaponry was shown there too. This big model of Lurtz freaked me out.His bow was cool.:) Me and the guys went to this photo taking booth to take a picture of us as hobbits and men.I was shrunk to the size of a Hobbit, while Samuel blew up and became really huge.It was all part of a photographic trick called "Force Perspection".That photo was expensive, but it was a whole lot of fun. While i was admiring the pictures were heard a bunch of teenage girls shrieking in the dark room with the One Ring.We followed the screams and saw someone dressed in Nazgul's black cloak and walking around scarying people. There was this old lady who did not notice it at first, only to turn around and scream. It was really funny following him around.I was telling Krishna to step on his cloak so it will tear off as he walked. There was this lady as well, walking around in the Hobbit costume.Weirdest thing was,she is an Indian.Hmm.Indian Hobbits?(Wonders.)Interesting.We got out of there, and headed to the merchandise shop to spend money.I got this chop on the back of my hand as i got out. It's pretty neat.I still have it on my hand, despite all the scrubbing and washing.Faded, but pretty cool. After taking forever to decide what i wanted to buy,i placed my money on this mug.I didnt looked really attractive, until Krishna told me that when you pour hot water in the mug the inscriptions will appear on the side.Wow.Thats awesome. So i bought it.It was 10 bucks, probably one of the cheapest things there.I wanted to buy the ring too,but it was pretty big.I was thinking about buying the Evenstar necklace as well. But i wont wear it,and its too big to give to someone. However,it was really beautiful.Krishna recommended me to buy one of the busts,or the swords.I slapped him when i saw the price.$160 and $459 respectively. It was great fun really, and we took a bus back to the interchange and took the separate routes back.By the time the Mrt reached City Hall i was almost fainting.I could feel the swirling getting more and more serious, and the world spunned around me as i waited for the train to arrive. The people around me talked, and their voiced drowned each other out.All i heard was a deep rumble that was sometimes higher than the next.My head was spinning, and i was forced to squat at the side of the door, while i listened to my CD.Called dad,and he came to pick me up from the Mrt station.Haha.There,ended my date with The Lord of the Rings.Awesome, awesome awesome.:)

Of the New Term and a New Girl
Blog Entry #2
Today, marks the unofficial beginning of term two.Though officially,it started last week.I got to school, with a Strepsil in my mouth and earphones plucked in tight to be ears.I was still feeling dizzy when i climbed the slope at the side of the carpark.i got to the hall, and the J1s already had their uniforms up.Very obedient bunch.Hmm.Unlike me,who started wearing uniform only a week after school started officially.I guess i was reluctant to turn from plain white to pure brown.Anyway,so i got to the hall as usual and sat myself down beside ZhuangYi.Valerie came in beside me,and told me that there was a new girl.Well,i took a peeked at her from the back and she was already starting a good conversation with Rachel.Hmm,she seemed familiar and yet,not quite. One of those faces,i thought. On further confirmation,i realised that she is a retainee from last year's J2.Did pretty bad for her Gp and got retained.Oh well,it sucks to stay back with a grade like hers, which is already worth praising in my opinion.Anyway, bad news for her:Your Gp is not going to improve much with Mr Yee around. Her name is Jasmine,Teo i think.Im not sure about the surname.Well, she mixed with my class pretty fast, and she seemed happy with us.Well, glad that we are not putting her out of our family like Krishna's class is doing to that British guy.Its always nice to have someone knew, regardless of whether that person is a he or a she.Its a breath of fresh air,and an opportunity to know someone, and let that person know about you all over again.I was down with a flu,so i was reluctant to talk much.(And i had a weird hair,so.)Another guy will be joining us 2 or 3 weeks from now according to her,and the girls got really excited,as to whether he was cute or not.I checked the yearbook and, dont put your hopes up too high girls.Haha.Anyway,nothing much to talk about this first day, since all i got was the normal everyday lessons, and that stupid face from Mrs Lee.Bitch.As usual.I have to stay back to do her tutorials.Well,as if i dont need to stay back in the first place, plus i will do it and smack them in her face.Oh well, now my head's swirling again.Im tired again.I better get some sleep.Lets cut myself some slack on the first day, shall we?Hmm.Bed,here i come.
